Meet Our Class Leaders
Robin Peck,
Steering Committee Chairwoman

A note from Robin: My husband, Nate, and I once visited Mammoth Caves in Kentucky. One night we explored a cave that had no lighting, and we were each given a lantern to hold from our guide. The lantern gave us just enough light so that my feet stayed on the path, so that I did not lose my way in that pitch dark cave. In Psalm 119:105. It says that God’s word is a lamp for my feet and a light on my path. We can know God, and navigate this increasingly dark world by the light of His Word. The Word of God is like a lantern in your hand, illuminating truths about the story of God, the character of God, and the ways of God. It helps us answer difficult questions and make hard choices and decisions. It can illumine life when the world looks confusing and dark. As we read and study God’s word, we are interacting with God himself. God’s promises are true and we can trust his instructions. His words are like beams of light guiding us even when life is difficult. If we choose to follow him, God’s love and light will lead us step by step throughout our lives all the way into eternity! The Bonita Bay Women’s Bible study group began when Bonita Bay first started being built. We have provided 100s of women over the years with Biblically based studies that have encouraged women in their walk with the Lord. We are blessed to have three excellent teachers who provide stimulating and applicable studies. We have a prayer team that provides confidential prayer support and we will again have a food drive in each of our classes for Cafe of Life. I am thankful that my neighbor invited me to attend the Bible study when I first moved into Bonita Bay! I have learned so much from each of the teacher’s studies and have grown closer to God as I open my Bible each day and meet God through his living word. Just like that lantern I clung to in that dark cave, I will cling to God and his word that brings light to my life. Won’t you join me and try out our studies?

Deborah Schabel,
Steering Committee Prayer Chairwomen
Debbie came to Bonita Bay 12 years ago and the main draw to choose to reside here, besides it’s beauty, was that the community had 3 women’s Bible studies! Coming from Cleveland, she and her husband, Ned, traveled back and forth for the first 5 years numerous times. To gain connection to something she loved and cared about, she decided to commit on a deeper level and head up the Prayer Chain. That didn’t need a full time seasonal residency to do the job. She loved the studies, the women who taught them and her fellow classmates. It was a perfect fit to delve into her passion to continue to grow her relationship with King Jesus, our intercessor in prayer to the Father, and be with a fabulous group of women doing the same thing!
